I’m a little ashamed to say it, but I really like LEGO Friends. Set aside all the stereotypical girlie stuff… all the hair brushes, lipsticks, makeup mirrors, etc… and they’re just plain fun. What I love best about them is they add a new array of bright and bold colors to the traditional LEGO bricks.
Mr. Family Brick’s LEGO Birthday!
Today is Mr. Family Brick’s birthday. (Happy Birthday honey!) Since we scraped the building of the Green Grocer for now, we decided we would try to build the Fire Brigade. So, for his birthday, I spent hours on BrickLink.com, looking for some of the missing pieces (mainly tiles and plates) that have had him stuck
Hold on Green Grocer… we’re moving on to the Fire Brigade
Remember our nemesis, the Green Grocer? Well, we’ve come across way too many missing bricks in our stash to try and build it. We can’t even get half of the first level built, because the pieces we are missing are random here and there. Enough of a structural absence that it stops us from continuing
Selling our spare LEGO bricks
I may have mentioned it previously, but we buy lots of LEGO from CraigsList. It’s how we feed our obsession and play and build the things we want. The only issue with this is sometimes we get too much of one type of brick. Or we get bricks we just wouldn’t use. Not to mention,
Take to the Skies! September 2014 Monthly LEGO Build
Last night, I decided to take The Little Brick to the LEGO store for the monthly store build. This month, it was the cutest mini racing plane. I was *sure* she would love it. I was really impressed with her building skills. She easily and quickly managed to build the model without major intervention from Mr.
Advent Vent: LEGO Advent Calendars
We were in the LEGO store last weekend when we ran across the new advent calendars for 2014. Mr. Family Brick and I have been very excited about buying the City advent calendar, since we’re working on a Christmas village for under the tree. Last year we decided to skip buying any of them all together… and
Dinosaurs on the brain – LEGO Ideas Fossil Museum
Because everyone likes to know who’s reading their blog posts, I troll the referrers list in my blog stats. Last night while quickly checking, I found my planetary exploration post was referenced in a feminist argument on the EuroBricks forum. I’m not so much concerned about the gender battleground issue, but I won’t lie that I do like
3 LEGO Creator Sets Under $5!
I’m always looking for a good deal on LEGO sets, although I rarely buy something unless it’s at the local LEGO store. However, I was doing a little bit of birthday shopping for Mr. The Family Brick and found the following three sets on sale for $4.95 at Amazon: LEGO Creator Red Thunder LEGO Creator Power
Response from LEGO Idea Planetary Exploration Creator
I love getting responses back from LEGO builders when I comment on their work. Seeing that they care about their fan base and supporters is pretty awesome. The other day when I mentioned the LEGO Ideas Planetary Exploration set, I went to add my support for the build and left the builder the following comment:
Our Nemesis… The Green Grocer!
We’ve been wanting to build the LEGO Creator Green Grocer for quite some time now. However, it is a discontinued set and as most of you know, a discontinued set increases in price the older it gets in the LEGO world. We’ve found the LEGO Creator Green Grocer on Amazon for $999. We’ve also found the LEGO
