Setting Up Winter Village Time Lapse Edition

Two years ago, I decided I would record a Winter Village time lapse video while we set up for Atlanta Brick Con 2021. I’ve never done a time lapse video, so this was definitely a new thing for me. Don’t judge me that it’s taken me this long to share it with you!

I wanted to share photos with you all, because it was a really amazing show. There were so many great builds and PeachLUG did an awesome job with representing at what has quickly become known as our hometown LEGO convention.

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find them. (Think they are on an older phone of mine that I never backed up.) Whomp. Whomp.

Our Winter Village Time Lapse

Enough with the photos, I know. So without further ado, here is our Winter Village time lapse video!

We added a few tricks during our tear down session this year to speed up future setups. But since we’re planning on changing our layout (yes – you read that right!), those might not be as helpful as we hope. That’s a post for another day.

How I Created the Time Lapse

As I mentioned, I’m new to creating time lapse videos. Honestly, I was planning on setting up my camera with a time lapse trip (even had this little beauty queued up in my Amazon shopping cart). Then I discovered that my new phone had a time lapse option and opted for a multi-function selfie stick that also serves as a cell phone tripod.

If you’re curious about the tripod, this is the one I purchased. However, I would recommend one that has a quick release for your phone. I found it annoying to have to screw in my phone to secure it.

It was fun to see the final result of our winter village time lapse. We hope you enjoyed the video!
