Trains, Trains, Trains! Is Back – Jan 29-30

Welcome back to Trains! Trains! Trains! PeachLug (yes, our LEGO User Group changed names during the pandemic – more on that another time) is an annual participant at this show ever since 2016. Unfortunately, the show was canceled for 2020 and 2021. The 2020 cancellation was hard on everyone, since it was the show’s 10th anniversary year.

I know, I know… it’s happening this weekend and I probably didn’t give you much time to plan, but hopefully you can still make it out to the event. That’s why I sent out my newsletter just as soon as I got this post up!

Description of the Trains, Trains, Trains! Event

If you’ve never heard of this event, you can read more about it here:

Join the Southern Museum on January 29 & 30 for our most popular event of the year! For 2022, the Southern Museum will feature our biggest model train display ever along with train-themed activities and historic trains.

Parking will be available at Swift-Cantrell Park (3140 Old 41 Hwy NW) with a FREE shuttle service.

From previous years, I know you’ll also get an opportunity to check out brand new train layouts and perennial favorites. Kids should have opportunities to interact with and operate a variety of trains.

There is also a General Emporium which features train-related gifts, toys and collectibles for all train enthusiasts of any age and size and lots of children’s train-related books.

And hopefully this year they will also run the 1920 steam-powered tractor built by the Advance-Rumley Thresher Company. Then you can just look for the steam to guide you to the museum!
