Celebricktion really put me behind in getting information out! So you’ll have to forgive me for not sharing the news of a new Filling In The Block Contest from Modulars By Kristel.
Basically, the quick run down is this:
There’s a city that once had a historical old building in a corner position. The building burnt down and now the city wants to build something in its place, no higher than one floor (or wider than 16 studs), that can be used by the whole community.
(Since this is supposed to be a corner lot, you’ll need a 32 x 32 baseplate or some sort of similar configuration with other baseplates to get to those dimensions.)
The building contest ends on the 31st, so it only has a few days left on it, but you could win the LEGO Changing Seasons set or a LEGO Treehouse set (which has already been retired)!
We haven’t had much time ourselves and having just heard of it a week ago, we have some “builders block” going on. However, I think I finally had a break thru yesterday afternoon… if I can manage to pull all the bricks I need, I’ll definitely make a submission! If you have some spare time this week, you should give it a shot.
So far, the entries we’ve seen lean towards the garden variety. I mentioned to my husband we should create a mock with human-powered items, we just don’t have a ton of bikes and we weren’t sure what we would have them power.
I must confess though, I do have my two favorites already. Almost makes me feel like I shouldn’t bother with a submission, unless I want to obsess over something for the next 3 days, they’re that great!
If you’d like to see what’s been submitted so far, you can check out the MBK – Contests group on Flickr.
