I don’t know about you, but I find myself coming back to LEGO in seasons. I’ll play hard for a bit and then work will pick up, or activities with friends and family, events at church, etc… and I find myself stepping away.
These last year though, I suspect the story has been the same for everyone. Just a lot of overwhelming. With people looking for distractions, it’s very clear that LEGO jumped in popularity during the pandemic. Just visit any store and you can see how little LEGO there is on the shelves. Or even a visit to Shop@Home and you’ll quickly notice all of the “Out of Stock” tags that pop up when new sets are released. I, instead, did a little bit of a 180 and kind of walked away from it all.
But I’m starting to feel more like myself again… with less of a desire to escape into hours of binging shows and more wanting to create new things. Not that anything is going back to normal because, let’s be honest, there will never be a normal like there was before. But that I can relax and flex other muscles. And I’m finding myself wanting to play with those shiny little bricks again. My creativity is slowly returning…
I hope that your time while I’ve been gone has been totally the opposite. That you dove right into building newer and better MOCs.
For those of you who checked on us while we checked out – so much love to you. Meant a lot to us.
And I secretly hope you missed us a little…because we missed you all, too.
Oh! And I have some awesome news to share next time! Almost can’t wait!
Personally, it excites me to read news about new products and look at their photos. But since prices have now increased, it is not possible to afford to buy the kits that we would like, and this is disappointing. But nevertheless, even a small set with your favorite characters inside is very pleasing.
