This past Tuesday, we were one of the lucky 5 VIP families to get invited to a private tour of the The LEGO Americana Roadshow. Can’t tell you how excited we were about it!
The evening started with all of us arriving at the LEGO Store, to meet up with the mall representative who organized the tour. Then we made a stop at each one of these amazing builds…
These are just a few of the photos I took during the tour. If you’d like to see more and read the description posters for each build, you can visit my LEGO Americana Roadshow album on Flickr.
As I watched the mall representative at work, it was a little like herding sheep. We’d walk by the Build-a-Bear shop and lose a few people there. Another few would get left behind at one build as they continued to admire it…and they almost lost our whole group at the LEGO Play Area. It wasn’t just the kids who wanted to stay and build, though…
At the end of the event, we received bags from LEGO with the White House mini build, the May 2014 LEGO Mini Build Dragon and the latest LEGO catalog. We haven’t built our White House build just yet, but once we do, I’ll make sure to post photos along with the instructions.
We also got the LEGO Americana Roadshow Poster for filling out the form on the back of the Roadshow map… don’t cheat now that you have the answers!
So if you were planning on going to the Roadshow while it’s here at North Point Mall… and you have kids, make sure you visit this weekend, September 26th and 27th from noon to 4pm so you can build your own LEGO White House to take home.
Finally, don’t forget to snap a photo while you are there and upload it to Instragram tagged with:

After you fill out the form at the North Point Mall LEGO website, you’ll get a chance to win a $50 LEGO gift card!
Are there any other national monuments you would have liked to see in the roadshow?
