Phew! It’s been an interesting two weeks at work. But before the week is over, I wanted to share with you guys a LEGO Idea for a mountain refuge that would make a great winter village cafe!
Meet the Tyrolean Mountain Refuge LEGO Ideas submission!
Description of the Tyrolean Mountain Refuge
The Tyrolean Mountain Refuge idea was submitted by Brickwood Creations. While the original idea was for a warm weather version of the build, he created a winter version which I’m sharing with you guys here.
This is the description for the winter version update:
This update was highly requested by my followers and it provides a colder take on my idea.
Because so many people suggested this to me or asked me about a winter version, I decided to include some minor alterations which can be switched out with the seasons to make my MOC more versatile.
In under 290 interchangeable parts, you can now tweak the design to make it snow in the Alps! Opt for either the summer or the winter season!
Winter features:
- Some warmer apparel for the minifigures outside
- Parasols have been closed for the winter season due to lack of sun
- Snow and icicles
- The snow has been cleared from the terrace but beware of some frozen patches
- The mountainbiker girl has put her mountainbike in storage and has brought along her snowboard
- The hikers have decided to go skiing and snowshoe walking instead
- The flowers have wilted but now there’s some fresh holly by the windows
- The interior of the seating area and workshop remain the same and still have the same highlights you all loved!

Our Thoughts
We clearly like the build, otherwise we probably wouldn’t have shared it with you guys. There are so many great details that we feel really add to the quaintness of the design. The smoke from the roof and the holly in the flower beds are cute touches.
But the interior really shines, too! The cheese making shop is well executed. From the cheese rack, to the cheese making barrel and the ham hocks hanging to dry, the details are definitely fun.
