Right, right… I know there is nothing Christmas-y about Star Wars. However, the LEGO Ideas team is running a LEGO Star Wars holiday contest and I would be remiss not to mention it here.
Now, don’t be mad at me if you feel baited by the image of the LEGO Employee Gift from 2019! I was trying to locate an image to give you an idea of what can be done with a theme like this. What better example than the one given to us by LEGO itself?
Now that we’re friends again…
I’ve been trying to convince Mr. Family Brick to let me hang the Death Star above the Christmas tree for years. We could build it up to shoot a laser at our tree, but Mr. Family Brick says that is a hard “no”. Something about not being Christmas-y enough. (Is Christmas-y even a word?)
But that doesn’t have to stop you from building an awesome LEGO Star Wars themed Holiday MOC to enter the contest! Just don’t find a way to integrate it into your winter village build without discussing with your other half. (I don’t want to be blamed for a “bad” Christmas!)
Details on the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Contest
LEGO Ideas made a post about the contest titled “New Contest – Celebrate The Holidays in a Galaxy Far Far Away“. Here is a snippet of the contest details from their page:
The holidays always come and go, but The Force™ is always there! How do your Holiday Star Wars™ scenes look? We want to see one of the following in your Holiday scenes:
- Millenium Flacon™
- TIE Fighter™
- X-Wing Fighter™
- AAT™
- AT-AT ™
- Jedi™ Interceptor™
- 501st Legion Clone Troopers™
Your scene must feature at least one of these listed above and be Holiday themed. The rest is up to you!
