4 Charming LEGO Microscale Nativities to Try

It's the time of year I start looking at building microscale, specifically LEGO microscale nativities. The first time I wrote about LEGO micro build nativities lit a love of microscale for me.

Looking to add something unique to your holiday LEGO winter village? Try your hand at LEGO microscale nativities! They're the perfect way to celebrate the season with a creative twist that fits anywhere in your festive display.

Here’s how to get started

Microscale only requires a handful of bricks and some clever parts usage. That's all it takes to evoke the spirit and story of a larger build in miniature. They're also a great way to use all those spare parts you get from your sets. Microscale builds are fun to design, easy to customize, and make for great conversation starters.

  • Pick your favorite scene: The stable itself, the manger, shepherds with tiny sheep, or the three wise men - keep it simple and focus on the essence of each character.
  • Go brick hunting: Micro builds shine when you use unexpected pieces. Small wedges, cheese slopes, and flower studs make excellent hay, animals, and even halos. Try tan, dark brown, white, and gold elements for a classic look.
  • Storytelling in miniature: Stack bricks for Mary and Joseph’s robes, use a round stud for baby Jesus, and create a modest structure from just a few plates. Place your nativity in the corner of a winter village market, under a Christmas tree, or as a centerpiece in a mini vignette.
  • Add to the scenery: Add micro palm trees, a guiding star overhead, or maybe a LEGO sheep or camel for a whimsical touch.
