Last month, I had a reader point out to me that the July 2017 LEGO Monthly Mini Build fell on the fourth of July. For those of you outside the US, July 4th is Independence Day around here. It’s the day when we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence (Wikipedia for the win!)
We tend to celebrate with barbecues and fireworks, parades and swimming pools… So you can imagine the last thing on our minds is running inside to attend a LEGO monthly mini build.
Fortunately, our local store manager was kind enough to look into it for me and this is what he heard back from LEGO corporate:
The Mini-Model Build that normally takes place the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month will take place the 2nd Tues/Wed in July to accommodate special mall hours on July 4. So the sign-up will still be on June 15, but the event will take place on Tues the 11th and Wed the 12th. This is US Stores only. The stores in Canada will hold their event on the traditional days, July 4 & 5.
Set your clocks! The July 2017 LEGO Monthly Mini Build registration is coming THIS THURSDAY, JUNE 15TH.

Also, there is a wait list system in place to allow those who didn’t get a slot a chance at one when someone cancels. If you can’t make it, make sure you cancel for those that want to attend!
Important Note for the LEGO Monthly Mini Build Program
Finally, it’s important to note: the monthly mini model build events are now only open to registered LEGO VIP members. This means, if you are not a VIP member, don’t expect to be able to register. If you don’t have a VIP account, it can take up to 2 days for the account to register on all their systems online, so I recommend you get one setup today. You can register for a VIP account at: https://shop.lego.com/en-US/Register
By the way, I send reminders to register for those that asked while signing up for the weekly newsletter. Sometimes I do forget, because it’s not an automated process and of course, I’m only human. However, if you’d like to be on that list for next month, make sure to add your email below:
