The Tale of Where We’ve Been…

So…um…yea… that impromptu hiatus happened. For those of you who have been around for a while, you probably noticed the fact that I was gone almost 6 months. Sometimes you don’t realize you need to take a break until you start taking a break. That seems to be exactly what happened to me.

For all of the new people who have recently joined to the blog, Welcome! If you’re wondering what happened to us, it’s been an eventful half year!

We’ve:

  • Gone through a promotions and job changes
  • Purchased a second house
  • Brought my mom and grandmother to live with us
  • Worked on renovating our first house

As you can see, we’ve been a little bit busy and I found myself more overwhelmed than normal… and I quickly realized something had to give. Unfortunately, it was the blog.

And let’s not begin to even talk about how horrible it is to move massive quantities of LEGO from one house to another! Ugh!

But now, things are so much more stable, so say hello to our new house!

We have basement space…

The “girls”… it’s what I call my mom and abuelita, are settling in nicely…

My job is affording me a little more flexibility…

And some of the renovation is almost complete!

Good times. Nothing like recognizing your blessings.

What’s been the coolest thing about this all is you guys! I’ve had a few of you write in and check on me, which is really super sweet. What’s best is that you came out to see us at the show this weekend! (Hey Ernie! It was nice meeting you!) We love meeting our readers.

But now, we’re back. I’m not sure what the blogging schedule will be just yet. There are a ton of things to write about with Christmas around the corner and the new year right behind it. Once I figure out what the new rhythm of writing is for us, I’ll make sure to let you know.

Thank you so much for everyone who has stayed with us! We look forward to sharing more LEGO goodness in the future!

  1. It was so good to finally meet you! I loved your winter display! Congrats on the house/job. I know that this is a busy time of year but glad you guys are doing good!

    1. It was really nice to meet you, too, Ernie! And a pleasant surprise that someone would come out just to visit us and our “modest” MOC. ;) Thank you for stopping by!

  2. So happy to hear of your new adventures! I truly was concerned when your blog wasn’t updating.

Like you, I just went through a huge move from Cali to AZ and totally get the moving of our huge Lego collection. In fact, I did not realize how many Legos I owned until I started packing for the move. Yikes.

    Looking forward to your updates.

BTW, there is a Lego store in my area. Guess who is thinking of applying for a job there???!!

    1. Hey Natasha!

Thanks for sending the note. I don’t remember if I responded, but wanted to let you know it was one of the reasons I got back on the blogging saddle. :) So thank you!

LEGO moving is not for the faint of heart… as you’ve already discovered! I definitely need to do a post of the crazy area of LEGO in our basement. It’s a bit ridiculous. lol

As far as LEGO stores, if you are near Phoenix, you have two of them:

      • Chandler Fashion Center in Chandler, AZ, and
      • Arrowhead Town Center in Glendale, AZ

Hope you are near one of those malls!
