Hey folks! As you can see, some of my posts are missing images and links due to some host issues I experienced recently. I'm working through getting those corrected as quickly as I can. However, if you are looking at a page you'd like me to correct sooner rather than later, drop me a line with the title of the blog post and I will move it up in my list of fixes to make. Thanks for your help!

We had so much fun with the Monthly LEGO Club Meeting last month, I signed us up for this month as well. However, that didn’t stop us from going to this month’s free mini build!

LEGO Monthly Mini Build March 2015 Robot

Last night’s LEGO monthly mini build was a robot.

The Little Brick *loves* robots. Just say the word and she immediately Starts. Talk. Ing. Like. A. Ro. Bot…. you get the picture. So this was a no-brainer for us. We were definitely in!

I also noticed today that she is still jumping ahead on instructions, building things from sight. I think that is awesome, but can’t wait until she doesn’t immediately melt down when she loses focus or can’t do something. I find that’s why I tend to remind her what step she’s on, but I suspect in a way it hinders her. I would love to see her just build a monthly without really looking at the instructions… Anywhooo… back to the robot…

The little guy is awfully cute! With all his shiny buttons and knobs and the pop of color from his eyes and shoes, he is just adorable from head to toe. (Don’t mind if all the pieces aren’t completely clutched in the photos. I let her build this bad boy all by herself and just didn’t catch it until I was editing the photos for this post.)

The winder on his back side is a nice touch, too. Reminds me of the Clockwork Robot LEGO minifigure from series 6.

His head is also on a swivel piece, which means it can do a 360 to look in any direction.

What I especially love about this little guy is that aside from 2 or 3 parts, you can easily make him (or a very similar build) from what most people have in their LEGO brick collection. Of course, you may have to replace a few parts with different colors, but he is still a super easy build. As a matter of fact, I plan on making a “girlie” partner for this little guy… unless The Little Brick beats me to it.

LEGO Monthly Mini Build March 2015 Robot - Parts List

Fortunately, if you missed last night’s build or just don’t meet the age requirement for building, the card that comes with the mini build lists all parts needed for the set on the back side. However, it doesn’t list part numbers. In case you need them, here’s the parts list from Rebrickable.com for you to download and build on your own:

Also, if you need the instructions for the build, you can download the LEGO March 2015 Robot Mini Build instructions here.

Did you attend this month’s mini build? How did you like the robot?
