LEGO Masters Sweepstakes & Series Premiere February 5th

I can’t imagine that if you love LEGO, you haven’t yet heard about the new LEGO Masters Sweepstakes and Series Premiere this Wednesday, February 5th on Fox. Everywhere I go online, I’ve gotten bombarded with ads for the show left and right.

LEGO Masters Sweepstakes

Interestingly enough, we were invited to audition to compete on the show when they were casting last year. However, work has been all consuming, as I’m sure you know by the lack of posts on the site. I didn’t even see they had reached out to me until it was too late.

Wait… you were invited to audition?

Yea! Crazy right?

Having said that, I don’t know that Mr. Family Brick and I would have been able to take a long enough break from work had we been selected for the show. It was just too much of a commitment for us to make at the time. It makes me happy that I did miss out on the auditioning time frame. No remorse at all.

We’ve had plenty of opportunities to discuss the invite. Turns out we weren’t the only ones the casting team contacted. Once we got together with our LUG, we discovered they had also reached out to many of them as well.

They had the same commitment issue we did. How do you figure out if you can get away from work, life, responsibilities. Spending 2 months playing with LEGO bricks is a hard one to justify when you have bills to pay.

So for this time around, we are just like everyone else, excitedly awaiting the premiere of the show. We won’t be able to watch it together as a family until Friday nights… or maybe even Saturday mornings, but it’ll be fun.

And who knows? Maybe the next time they are casting, we might be more available.

To promote the show, LEGO also has two sweepstakes! You can win via a LEGO Sweeps or Master Builder Challenge. First, you probably want to know what LEGO Masters is all about…

What is LEGO Masters?

If you haven’t the faintest idea what I’m talking about, here is a trailer for the new series and a description from the show page:

Hosted by actor and producer Will Arnett and based on the hit British reality-competition series of the same name, LEGO MASTERS brings imagination, design and creativity to life when teams of LEGO enthusiasts go head-to-head, with infinite possibilities and an unlimited supply of LEGO bricks. Teams of two will compete against each other in ambitious brick-building challenges to be crowned the country’s most talented amateur LEGO builders. In each episode, Arnett, alongside expert judges and special guests, will encourage the builders, introduce incredible challenges and put their creations to the test. The competing pairs who impress the judges the most will progress to the next round, until the finale, during which the top teams will face off for a cash prize, the ultimate LEGO trophy and the grand title of LEGO MASTERS.

What is this about a LEGO Masters Sweepstakes you say?

What is the LEGO Masters Builder Challenge?

If purchasing more LEGO is not in your future, you can also try the LEGO Masters Builder Challenge, officially known as the “FOX Lego Masters Sweepstakes”. This is also a sweepstakes-based opportunity which began on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 and ends on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.

During the challenge period, you would visit www.LegoMastersBuilder.com from a web-enabled mobile device and follow the on-screen instructions to digitally build and download a LEGO creation. Once you complete and download the build, you can enter the sweepstakes via an Instagram or Twitter entry.

There are a ton of entry rules you need to follow, hashtags and restrictions, so you’ll want to make sure you read through the official rules here.

And what can you win for all your trouble:

  • 1 LEGO set worth $220 (4 total)
  • 4 1-day tickets to a LEGOLand Park or LEGOLand Discovery Center within the United States. (4 total)

Both of these opportunities are only open to US residents.
