Mr. Family Brick’s LEGO Birthday!

Hey folks! As you can see, some of my posts are missing images and links due to some host issues I experienced recently. I'm working through getting those corrected as quickly as I can. However, if you are looking at a page you'd like me to correct sooner rather than later, drop me a line with the title of the blog post and I will move it up in my list of fixes to make. Thanks for your help!

Today is Mr. Family Brick’s birthday. (Happy Birthday honey!) Since we scraped the building of the Green Grocer for now, we decided we would try to build the Fire Brigade. So, for his birthday, I spent hours on BrickLink.com, looking for some of the missing pieces (mainly tiles and plates) that have had him stuck for a while now.

We just don’t come across as many as we like when we pick up spare pieces on CraigsList.

He also found a score a few weeks ago that I secretly went to pick up. He didn’t want to buy it, because we were getting ready to have a large weekend of spending, but I managed to make sure we had that amount in our budget so I could pick them up for him. I hid them in our house and he had no clue!

Do you know how hard it has been these past two weeks not to tell him about all the LEGO bricks I had for him? Every single time I saw him sad that he couldn’t move forward, every single time we went to the brick wall hoping it would change (which, by the way, our brick wall doesn’t change but every 3 months. I think that’s the standard… Did you know that?), every single time I’d see him longingly flip through the listings on eBay or CraigsList… I almost broke down! But I held strong and today and this weekend he got this gigantic mess of LEGO goodness:

And as the little bags of LEGO arrived this weekend, I handed them over one by one. I think he really enjoyed his birthday weekend and definitely made some good progress on the Fire Brigade build:

LEGO made this birthday a breeze. (Hah! This sounds like a sponsored post… but it isn’t!)
